Neagley dumps all eight episodes on Reacher's Season 4 finale night

Prime Video stamped the carton in public and then kept stamping it. Neagley, starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, dumps all eight episodes on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in more than 240 countries. Amazon's own entertainment blog says the stack lands after the Season 4 finale of Reacher. Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton created it. Alan Ritchson guests as Jack Reacher. That is the announcement. Not a review of an hour I have not been handed. Not a Metacritic that some listings tried to imply was already a Thursday object.

The plot furniture Prime wants you to have is simple. Neagley is a Chicago private investigator, former military protégé from the 110th Special Investigations Unit. A beloved friend from her past dies in a suspicious accident. She goes hunting. Greyston Holt plays Detective Hudson Riley. Adeline Rudolph is Renee Birdwhistle. Jasper Jones is Keno. Matthew Del Negro is Pierce Woodrow. Damon Herriman is Lawrence Cole. I am copying the billed names because announcements desks that invent a role map get people fired in the comments.

Dumping eight on a finale night is a packaging dare. The dare is: you will finish Reacher and then immediately start a spinoff instead of touching grass. Touching grass is optional. The dare is also a mercy, because weekly spinoffs after a big finale often feel like homework. Homework is how you kill a character people already like. A dump says the character is a weekend. Weekends are how Prime likes to launch things it is nervous about and things it is smug about. I will not guess which mood this is. I will guess that Wednesday will look like a binge object either way.

Eight on a finale night is a dare: finish the giant, then start the PI.

I already argued you cannot review eight hours at 9 a.m. in you cannot review eight hours at nine. That still applies five days out. What you can announce is the shape. Eight episodes, all at once, same calendar square as a Reacher goodbye. Shape is a spoiler-light fact. Shape is also a warning to your sleep.

Ritchson as a guest is the sentence that will get quoted in every recap preview. Guest is not lead. Lead is Sten. If the marketing starts to look like a Reacher cameo delivery system, the carton has a problem. If the marketing keeps Sten in the poster with a bat or a bear or whatever still they sent out this week, the carton has a chance. Chances are all an announcements piece can sell. I am selling the chance that a PI show can live next to a giant.

Guest is not lead. If the poster forgets that, the carton has a problem.

Compare the other dump on the calendar without stealing its review. Colin From Accounts put its whole last season on Paramount+ yesterday, which I marked as drop-eve earlier in the week in drop-eve is the Colin goodbye. Two dumps in six days is a lot of all-at-once. All-at-once is the 2026 default for comedies and the 2026 temptation for action. Temptation is not a moral. It is a calendar.

Santora and Wootton as creators is the crime-show grammar. Lee Child is in the executive list. Amazon MGM, Paramount Television, CBS Studios, Blackjack, the usual stack of logos. Logos do not tell you if the show is good. Logos tell you the machine could afford eight hours. Eight hours is a commitment even when they arrive in one night. Commitment is the announce.

I will not print a fake 3:00 a.m. Eastern if Amazon's public blog does not lock the clock in the copy I am citing. Some listings say early morning. Some just say September 16. Date is the appointment. Clock is a local argument with your app. Check the app Tuesday night. Checking the app is the adult version of a countdown tweet.

What to do with the next five days. Finish Reacher if you care about the handshake. Skip Reacher if you only ever liked Neagley in the corner of the frame. Both are legal. Homework is not required to watch a PI walk into a Chicago problem. Homework is how fandoms punish new people. New people are how a spinoff lives past episode two of a dump.

Last announcements sentence. Wednesday is the Neagley carton. Eight hours, one night, Sten in the lead, Ritchson as the guest tax. I am not scoring it. I am putting it on the fridge. Fridges are how binge objects become plans. Plans are how you do not accidentally start episode one at midnight and hate yourself at work. Hate is optional. The dump is not.

Sten's move from the corner of Reacher to the title card is the actual news, even if the internet wants the cameo. Title cards are a promotion. Promotions can stall. Promotions can also reveal that the corner was carrying scenes the lead did not notice. I would like the second one. I have been trained by spinoffs to expect the first. Five days of trailers will tell you which way Amazon is leaning. Lean is a marketing tell. Tells are this desk.

Chicago as a setting is doing work the logline does not brag about. Reacher wanders. Neagley stays. Staying is a different action grammar. Staying means faces come back. Faces that come back are how a PI show becomes a show instead of an eight-hour movie about a visit. I am announcing the stay as a hope, not a review. Hope is allowed in a date stamp piece.

If your household is splitting the week, put Neagley on the shared calendar as a Wednesday night, not as a maybe. Maybes lose to leftover Reacher arguments and to whatever football the app is also yelling about. Shared calendars are how dumps actually get watched. Unwatched dumps become a thumbnail you feel guilty about in November. Guilt is not a premiere.
