Sons of Behemat preorders are still Saturday math

Gargant plastic hit the preorder window and the tabletop calendar did not get quieter. Miniatures desk files the Sons of Behemat appointment without inventing a points cost.

Sons of Behemat preorders went live this morning and the hobby calendar did not get quieter. Games Workshop's Age of Sigmar Gargant wave is on the Warhammer webstore and at independents with a September 26 street date. Boss-stompers, Ma Maegran, Stomper Tribe, Brawlers of Behemat, a new Battletome, cards, dice. I am filing the Saturday appointment, not inventing a points gospel for a book I have not finished.

Previews are wishlists. Preorders are whether the limited box walks.

I already stamped the preview clock in Saturday is the Gargant preorder. Today is the follow. Previews are renders and wishlists. Preorders are whether your card clears before the while-stocks-last boxes walk. Stomper Tribe and Brawlers of Behemat carry that limited tag. Limited is not a rumor. Limited is the reason someone sets an alarm for 1 p.m. Eastern on a Saturday.

Boss-stompers are the kit most lists will actually feel. Three Gargants in one box. Same sprues can build Rock-hurlers instead, and those three Rock-hurlers are the new Sons of Behemat Spearhead. That is a lot of jobs for one purchase. New players chase it to start. Existing Mega-Gargant collectors chase it because five years of thin refreshes taught them to grab the core kit when it finally lands.

Ma Maegran is the other sentence. Chooser of the Mighty. A support caster with Ancient Ghyrochs, priced like a character who changes how the giants you already own behave. Sons of Behemat lists have historically been a handful of enormous profiles expected to solve their own problems. A model that buffs bigness is lore-accurate and also a different kind of shelf decision than another set of legs.

I am not going to pretend I have a ranked order for every box. What I will say is Saturday math for this faction looks like: buy the plastic you will assemble before Thanksgiving, then decide if the Battletome is tonight reading or next weekend. The hardback is not vanishing. The limited tribe boxes might. That split is the whole preorder psychology.

Pricing from the public sheets is the adult part of the joke. Boss-stompers land around $172 in the States. Ma Maegran around $195. Stomper Tribe around $280. Brawlers of Behemat around $315. Battletome around $65. Those are not impulse stickers next to a $40 infantry box. They are decisions. Decisions are allowed to sit overnight. Overnight is how you avoid buying a second Mega-Gargant you will not finish before the next preview cycle.

Compare the other miniatures noise on the near counter without collapsing the week. Atomic Mass already streeted Separatist commanders this week, which I filed in five Separatists street today. Different company, different scale, same Saturday brain: a named pile of plastic as the reason you leave the house. Miniatures news is appointment culture with glue fumes.

Assassin plastic still owns its own October lane in my notes from October still owns the assassin plastic. Behemat is not competing with that kit for hobby minutes. Behemat is competing with your sleep and your credit limit. Sleep usually loses first. Credit limit loses second. Paint anxiety loses third, which is how Mega-Gargants sit half-primed on a tray through football season.

Practical shop advice I actually follow. Check Discord before you drive. Independent North American shops sometimes go live overnight. The GW site hits later. If your local only has one Stomper Tribe, decide whether you are buying an Army of Renown or buying a future eBay listing. Speculators make Saturday ugly. Players make Saturday a build night. I know which table I want to sit at.

Buy the plastic you will assemble. Shame rectangles do not score wounds.

Hobby order, selfish. Boss-stompers first if you need three bodies that read across the table. Ma Maegran first if you already own Mega-Gargants and want the new lever. Battletome first if you refuse to glue until you know the traits. All three answers are adult. Shame rectangles are not adult. Shame rectangles are how a $172 box becomes furniture.

Magnet talk will start by dinner for anyone building Boss-stompers who wants both clubs and slings later. Magnets are a hobby inside the hobby. If your shop has a magnet drawer, ask before you drill. If it does not, pick one loadout and live with it for a month. Living with a loadout is how you find out whether you even like the unit before you turn the kit into surgery.

I will not invent a tournament where Rock-hurlers auto-win. Street is two weeks out. What I will invent is a living-room plan: open one box this weekend, base it before you doomscroll the rest of the wave, and leave the while-stocks-last FOMO for people who treat limited tags like a personality. Personality should be the paint scheme. Not the receipt screenshot.

Warhammer Community dropped King Brodd fiction as a preorder warm-up, which is cute and also irrelevant to whether you can afford Ma Maegran and dinner. Fiction is free. Plastic is not. Free fiction is how GW keeps the faction loud while your wallet does the real work. Loud is fine. Loud is not a shopping list.

Gamer's Edition Battletome with warscroll cards is the other limited itch. Cards are table quality of life. Quality of life is how people actually play instead of phone-scrolling warscrolls between turns. If you know you will play, chase the cards version before it becomes a secondary-market tax. If you only paint, the hardback art is enough and your wallet will thank you.

Last miniatures sentence. Sons of Behemat preorders are Saturday math you can do without a calculator. Core kit or limited tribe box. Character or book. Assemble something before the next preview cycle pretends you failed. The giants are on the page. The alarm already rang. I am filing the ring.
